How to Use CIRIS and CDCR Records

The correct CDCR search path is structured. It should be used when the person was sentenced to state prison, released from a CDCR institution, transferred from Sacramento custody to CDCR, or is believed to be on parole or PRCS after prison release.

1. Open CIRIS and search by CDCR number if available. The CDCR number is the strongest public identifier.

About the CDCR Search System

The CDCR statewide system covers state-prison custody and state correctional status. It is not a public feed of every Sacramento County release.
